1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed version of your password. When you use CourseScribe, we process the student submissions you upload, the rubrics and prompts you provide, and the annotations generated by our AI.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve CourseScribe, process your grading requests through AI services, and communicate with you about your account. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Student Data & FERPA

We understand the sensitivity of student educational records. Student submissions are processed solely to provide annotation services and are not used to train AI models. We support institutional FERPA compliance and will sign a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) upon request.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

You may delete your courses, assignments, and documents at any time. When you delete content, it is permanently removed from our systems. Account deletion requests can be made by contacting support@coursescribe.com.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. Your data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure.
